Mr. James is a founder of Brown & James, which was established on
January 1, 1981. Mr. James primarily practices in the areas of product
and professional liability with particular emphasis on the professional
liability of design professionals involving both torts and contracts for
both bodily injury cases and claims by owners or contractors.
He has
tried more than 200 jury trials to conclusion and has prepared,
evaluated and settled more than 3,000 cases. He has lectured regularly
in Continuing Legal Education courses and has lectured and prepared
papers for presentation for the Construction Division of the American
Bar Association as well as the Meeting of Invited Attorneys sponsored by
the AIA and Victor Schinnerer & Co. Prior to establishing Brown
& James, Mr. James was a partner with the law firm of Moser,
Marsalek, Carpenter, Cleary, Jaeckel & Keaney.
In 2009, he was honored
as senior counselor of the Missouri Bar, a title given to lawyers
who have reached the age of 75 or who have been admitted to the bar for
50
years.
